Prof. Salah Salman Asmar Zaineddin

Prof. Salah Zaineddin is currently a Professor of Commercial and Maritime Law at Qatar University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from Alexandria University (1980) in Egypt and his Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Cairo University, Egypt (1980 – 1982). Prof. Salah Zaineddin also obtained his Doctorate in Law (DPhil) from the University of Delhi, India (1992 -1995).

Between 1995-2005, Prof. Salah Zaineddin worked in the academic field at a number of Jordanian universities, including Isra University, University of Jordan, Al-Zaytouna University, and Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies. During this period, he participated in a number of academic committees and led the Department of Private Law and was Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law at Isra University.

Since 2005, Prof. Salah Zaineddin has worked in a number of law schools in GCC universities, including Sultan Qaboos University, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, Ajman University, University of Sharjah, American University in the UAE, Al Ghurair University, and Qatar University. During this period, he has served on a number of academic committees and served as Dean of the College of Law at Al Ghurair University.

Prof. Salah Zaineddin has contributed extensively to the pursuit of research through various academic articles relating to Private Law, specifically intellectual property law, commercial law, and maritime law. He has also authored many academic textbooks that are used to instruct students in Jordan, the UAE, and Qatar. Additionally, Prof. Salah Zaineddin has contributed extensively to and written many research papers in various academic conferences, symposiums, forums, and workshops.

Prof. Salah Zaineddin has supervised and evaluated many legal research projects, master dissertations, and doctoral dissertations. Prof. Salah Zaineddin has also contributed to the profession by providing many professional and legal training courses in various countries including  Jordan, Oman, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar, and at several governmental and private bodies and centres including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry of Justice, Qatar University at the Center for Community Service and Continuing Education, the Law and Development Center, the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Organization.

 Prof. Salah Zaineddin also has extensive experience in the professional field. He has been a practicing lawyer and advocate before all Jordanian courts since 1983 and is a Senior Legal Advisor, Seconded to the Intellectual Property Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar. Prof. Salah Zaineddin provides technical expertise in legal commercial matters, especially in matters related to intellectual property rights and he has provided this expertise before Jordanian courts. He has also served as a consultant to universities, institutions, companies, and individuals.

 Prof. Salah Zaineddin is frequently called upon by various news outlets as a legal analyst and consultant. He has been featured by Jordan Television, Al-Jazeera, Al-Jazeera Mubasher, Al-Hurra Channel, Al-Arabi Channel, Turkey in Arabic Channel, Qatar Radio, among others. He has published legal articles in several newspapers including: Al-Raya, Al-Arab, and Al-Sharq, Al-Rai.
