Abstract

Qatari Maritime Law

Abstract

The book outlines legal provisions that regulate maritime navigation, vessels, ownership and supply of the vessel, as well as the vessel’s marine and land personnel. Trademarks – Domestic and International

Abstract

The historical development of trademarks at the national and international levels are set forth, referring to the definition of the trademark, functionality, and importance; distinguishing between the trademark and other intellectual property rights. By explaining a trademark’s permissible elements, the content explains the conditions required for trademark conferral and consequences of registration. Reference is made to the registration of foreign trademarks in Jordan, as well as protections and the statement of the provisions of established trademarks.

Proprietary rights of the trademark, indicating the advantages of the right to the trademark and the reasons for acquiring the right to it, and conflict resolution is discussed.

Legal protections are reviewed, focusing on the civil protections conferred by a trademark, penal protections, precautionary measures, and complementary penalties.

Analysis of the Paris Convention Concerning the Protection of Industrial Property of 1883, the Convention Concerning the International Registration of Trademarks of 1891, the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of Marks of 1957 and the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights 1994, are debated.

Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights (“IPR”)

Abstract

The intellectual property system aims to promote economic, social, and cultural progress through the protection of intellectual property rights that encourage creativity in all rights.
